About Gia-Rayne B. Harris
Gia-Rayne B. Harris is a writer-director born in Mississippi, whose work centers intimate, character-driven stories that explore the interior lives of womxn and BIPOC communities. Grounded in emotional truth and social realism, her storytelling functions as a love letter to the people and places that shaped her.
Harris recently directed on Netflix’s global phenomenon Bridgerton (Season 4),
set to premiere in early 2026. She made her television debut on NBC’s Chicago P.D. through the NBCUniversal Launch Female Forward Program, where her episode ranked among the season’s most-watched, and returned in 2024 to direct a subsequent episode. Her thirteen short films include Pens & Pencils, an NAACP Image Award–nominated short now streaming on HBO Max. She is currently developing original television and feature projects and is attached to direct the independent feature Holy Mind, slated for 2026.
She is an alum of the Netflix Series Director Program, the Shondaland/SeriesFest Women Directing Mentorship, the DGA Director Development Initiative, and the Women In Film Directing Fellowship (and now serves as a WIF mentor). She is currently a member of DGA Squad and was a Studio Skyfire Fellowship at Stowe Story Labs Semifinalist. Harris earned her MFA in Directing from the American Film Institute and is an alumna of the University of Pennsylvania. She is represented by WME and Heroes and Villains Entertainment .
