About Gia-Rayne B. Harris
Gia-Rayne B. Harris, a Mississippi-born Writer-Director celebrated for her character-driven narratives that authentically capture the experiences of womxn and BIPOC individuals. She is an alumna of the University of Pennsylvania and the American Film Institute where she earned her MFA in Directing.
In 2023, her short film "Pens & Pencils" earned an NAACP Image Award nomination and was acquired by HBO, now streaming on MAX. Harris made her television directorial debut on NBC’s "Chicago PD" in January 2023 through the NBCULaunch Female Forward Program, then went on to direct a subsequent episode in 2024.
In 2022, Harris won the SeriesFest and Shondaland Women Directing Mentorship during which she had the opportunity to shadow Tom Verica on Netflix’s Bridgerton. In 2024, she was selected as a protégé in the highly competitive DGA DDI Mentorship program, and was also chosen one of eight Directing Fellows in the 2024 WIF Fellowship.
Harris recently wrapped an episode of Netflix’s Bridgerton which is set to premiere in 2026.
Beyond her work as a director and writer, she is deeply committed to educating and mentoring emerging filmmakers, with a strong focus on championing diverse voices in cinema.
She is represented by WME and Heroes and Villains Entertainment.
